Cooinda Retreats is pleased to offer our newest addition to nature-based camping.

In late December 2023 we got to work in creating a small RV Park and Camp Stay. We moved soil, tore away weeds and vines, laid grass and planted fruit trees and beautiful trees that will provide shade in summer, warmth in winter and beautiful colours in Autumn. We found our Park Caretaker, built a communal fire pit and strung-up gorgeous festoon lights over our very cool camp kitchen with alfresco dining.

What to expect

The RV Park and Camp Stay is immersed in nature and has magnificent views down to the Fleurieu coastline. Whilst we are less than a 5-minute drive to central Victor Harbour, walking down to the town or the beach along Hindmarsh River trails and bike paths only takes 20 minutes (or 30 minutes if you meander all the way down along the river trails). We sit just above the township but with the scrubland in front of us you will feel miles away from the busy coastal town.

How to book

Please find us on Hipcamps where all our sites are clearly described and measured for your convenience (no surprises, lots of detail). We are working hard to make everything as perfect as we can for your stay.

We don’t offer perfection, but we do offer you something pretty special.

Is this for me?

RV Parks are great for those that travel self-sufficiently with power, water, loos and showers. At our RV Park we have water and before too long we will also have power. We have 4 portable loos that are kept spotless by our Caretaker, and we have 3 portable showers that have great water pressure.

We don’t have a dump point at the present time but hopefully we will eventually and in the meantime, the closest dump point is 3kms down the road. We can recycle your cans, and water bottles (please always take the lid off the water bottle when disposing) that are placed in the yellow drink bin, but the rest of your rubbish needs to be taken with you. Grey water to surface is permitted and we encourage the use of non-toxic chemicals in grey water.

Respect. It’s in our nature.

We have lush green grass, and we love our visitors to help us to maintain the grass on their site. We do not permit floor mats on established lawn areas (to be honest, who wants a mat when you have beautiful soft lawn) and anything that is put on the ground we just ask that you rotate the items, so the lawn doesn’t burn.

We are nature-based, we have semi-rural neighbours, and we are adjacent to our larger camp facility. We request quieter noise in the evenings and no noise after 10.30pm.

Dogs are permitted however we only want to extend our hospitality to responsible dog owners. Dogs must always be kept on a lead, you (of course) must always clean up after your pet, and aggressive breeds are not permitted as we do not have the capacity to manage the issues that can be associated with aggressive dogs. If you have more than 2 dogs, please contact us for approval to bring more than 2 dogs. We know it goes without saying, but please do not let your dog encroach upon the privacy of other campers.
